We believe that with support and inspiration, we can help talented and young Dutch visual artists to truly flourish — wherever in the world that may be. That's why the John & Marine van Vlissingen Art Foundation was founden in 2008.

John and Marine Fentener van Vlissingen are avid art lovers. And each year, a contemporary Dutch artist is selected to seek artistic inspiration to develop new work. They are given the opportunity to choose where in the world they would feel most inspired to allow their artistic spirit to shine and to flourish.

Each of their inspiring journeys and new work are showcased in our annual Inspiration book series, published by Waanders. The book and the artist's new work are presented to a large audience during a museum exhibition.
