Glazed terracotta decorative tile with abstract decor of a beehive, 1940’s, 2,5 x 12,5 cm, Signed: B vd L.



This tile is a unique work of art made by Van der Leck himself. Van der Leck mixed the glazes himself and reapplied each composition by hand before firing it in his own kiln. He sometimes made multiple copies of a theme/subject, but he always experimented with lines and colours in such a way that there were no exactly the same tiles. Only the approved copies were signed by him.
