Are you talking to me
What happens when you are completely silent and withdraw into your deepest inner being? Who is talking to you? What does your inner self say? Is it a world that is endlessly vast or oppressively small?
This bronze box has an image on four sides: two closed eyes on the outside and a mouth and an ear on the inside. When closed we explore all kinds of thoughts. Are we hearing complaints? Or future dreams? Are we giving ourselves words of encouragement to deal with the physical world? Or are we hearing something else entirely?
In meditation, silence is a moment of spiritual practice, an attempt to expand the mind so we can make contact with an immeasurable space. What or who we hear in this universe is unclear, so the question remains: Are you talking to me?
