Nicholas the Wonderworker is depicted at the centre, dressed in episcopal vestments. In his left hand he holds a Gospel book; with his right hand he makes a gesture of blessing. Over his shoulders he wears a white omophorion decorated with black crosses.
Surrounding the central image are twelve important events from the life of the saint. These include the Birth and Baptism of Nicholas, as well as various good deeds and miracles performed by him.
