description
Bacchus, the God of wine and drunkenness, as Amor seated on a wine barrel on a chariot decorated with grape vines, is pulled forward by two leopards. Amor is not carrying his bow and arrow, but is snacking on grapes, while the triumphal chariot is pulled by two tame leopards. This tells us that love is stronger than physical strength. Love goes above and beyond.
The execution of this pendulum is very rare and of a very high quality.
France, Empire, circa 1810
