Dürst Britt & Mayhew

Dürst Britt & Mayhew is one of the most visionary contemporary art spaces in the Netherlands. It offers an exciting platform for both emerging international voices and important historical estates. Founders Jaring Dürst Britt and Alexander Mayhew bridge the gap between historical legacy and contemporary practice by treating art history as a living, dialogue-driven continuum rather than a fixed past.

The gallery does not limit itself strictly to new artists; it actively manages important artistic estates, most notably that of the iconic Dutch modernist master Willem Hussem (1900-1974) and Situationist Jacqueline de Jong (1939-2024). Instead of presenting these historical figures in isolation, they are deliberately paired with artists from vastly different generations and backgrounds to break the linear timeline of art history.

Dürst Britt & Mayhew participated in TEFAF Maastricht, Art Basel Miami Beach, Paris+ par Art Basel and Liste Art Fair Basel, among many other international fairs.
