A rare gold Victorian bracelet featuring a central oval cabochon-cut rock crystal locket, overlaid with a horseshoe motif set with 9 graduating cabochon-cut turquoises. The frame is further detailed with 8 radiating, bezel-set cabochon-cut turquoises and flanked on either side by heart-shaped cabochon-cut rock crystal shoulders, also set in gold. In high Victorian sentimentality, the combination of the horseshoe for good luck, hearts for love, rock crystal for eternal devotion, and forget-me-not blue turquoise for remembrance creates a coded token of deep devotion and good fortune. The reverse retains it original glazed locket compartment. Most likely English in origin, circa 1860.
