description
Rare White Zig Zag Chair by Gerrit Rietveld, Gerard van de Groenekan, Netherlands, 1971.
An original Zig Zag chair designed by Gerrit Rietveld in 1934 and manufactured by his longtime cabinetmaker Gerard van de Groenekan in 1971. Constructed from elm wood with a white painted finish, the chair consists of four flat wooden sections forming its characteristic Z-shaped silhouette.
The construction features traditional wooden joints, including visible dovetail connections between the seat and diagonal support. Preserved in its original condition, the white painted surface shows signs of age and use, with areas of paint loss revealing the wood beneath.
Provenance: Wouter Rikmans.
