Provenance: Collection P.P. Rijkens, Brockham Park, Betchworth, Surrey, England, inv. No. 182 (according to a label on the stretcher).
Probably painted in 1929 when acquired by the famous collector Paul Rijkens (1888-1965), Surrey
(cf. exhibition Museum Alkmaar, Collectie Paul Rijkens, 2020).
A comparable work by Sluijters, an elegant women on a terras at the Vierwaldstatten Meer, was purchase by Henri van Abbe and is now in the van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven
