Framing

Framed in a hand carved wooden frame with white gold and highest quality museum glass



Between 1925 and 1930 Van Dongen worked on a series of lithographs of women. The prints show faces of elegant girls or ladies. The intention was to print an edition of 100 colour lithographs of 6 different images. After the printing of proofs in black, for some reason it was decided to stop the project. For this print only seven numbered copies and some unnumbered proofs are known to exist. Most of them completed with extensive hand coloring by the Kees van Dongen. Probably the rest of the edition was lost for unknown reasons.
