Detail Description
Terry O'Neill is one of the most iconic and influential photographers of the past 60 years worldwide. Members of the British royal family and prominent politicians also stood in front of his camera. With his casual, intimate photos he showed the human side of celebrities. The legendary photographer maintained a personal relationship with many of them.
Terry O'Neill started out as a photographer in 1958 in his hometown of London and was a true pioneer of celebrity photography. After the Daily Sketch tabloid, he soon worked for the largest daily newspapers and magazines in the world such as Newsweek, TIME, Vanity Fair and Vogue. O'Neill's extensive and iconic oeuvre is bundled in numerous photo books. The National Portrait Gallery in London has 80 portraits in its collection. In 2019 he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to photography.
