Exhibitions around PAN Amsterdam
RIJKSMUSEUM, AMSTERDAM - GABRIEL METSU 16 December 2010 - 20 March 2011 The premier examples from the oeuvre of Gabriel Metsu (1629-1667). Along with Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen, Gerard ter Borch and Pieter de Hooch, Metsu was one of the leading genre painters of the Golden Age. Before his untimely death, Metsu was able to make a name for himself with his appealing works. Unlike his contemporaries, this versatile painter from Leiden has never in the last 40 years had an exhibition dedicated to his work.
